Which Lethal Diseases Threaten Most Men

    Due to their work load and activities, men are exposed to different kinds of diseases which if not treated on time and with proper care can turn lethal and lead to death. These diseases are contracted either by not paying proper attention to hygiene or by not eating a balanced diet.

    Lethal Life Threatening Diseases in Men
    Due to their work and living conditions men are exposed to the danger of contracting lethal diseases, which can also prove life threatening. Some of the lethal diseases that threaten men are heart problem, cancers, kidney problem, respiratory diseases, diabetes and sexually transmitted diseases.

    Different diseases have different sources. Some are contracted by living in certain environmental conditions, others are result of imbalanced diet and lack of physical activity and some are transmitted sexually or orally.

    Some of the Lethal Diseases Threatening Men
    Heart Diseases
    Heart problem is caused due to combination of high cholesterol, blood pressure and lack of exercise. It is brought on by excessive eating and laziness. If not treated on time with medicine, it may also require surgery. Most of the men contract heart diseases in their middle years.

    Cancers
    Caner is a lethal and painful disease. The main reason is too much smoking, alcohol drinking, lack of balanced diet and too many fats. Prostate cancer and lung cancer are very common in men. Prostate cancer is caused due to too much intake of fatty acids. Lung cancer is caused by excessive smoking and living in polluted conditions.

    Diabetes
    A genetically transmitted disease in which sugar is not utilized by the blood due to low levels of insulin. High sugar level damages different organs of the body such as eyes, heart and kidney. Uncontrolled diabetes can prove to be lethal and may lead to blindness, end stage renal failure and loss of sensation in feet leading to amputation.

    Respiratory Failure
    Respiratory failure simply refers to failure of respiratory system. The lungs and the wind pipe are the organs most affected by this disease. It may begin with common cold, flu and allergies but if not treated it may result in something severe and lethal causing damage to lungs.

    Kidney Disease
    The damage to neprons, the tiny structures inside the kidneys that filter blood, may result in kidney failure. It happens over a period of time and takes years, so one doesn’t know its happening. It may be caused due to diabetes, when the body does not use sugar well. High blood pressure can also damage the small blood vessels in ones kidneys or it can also be hereditary.

    Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD)
    One of the most lethal and incurable sexually transmitted disease is AIDS. It can spread due to unprotected sex, blood transfusion, unsterilized needles and mother’s womb. It is caused by HIV (Human Immunodefeciency virus) which destroys the body defense (Immune system). Any small infection can become serious and can kill the patient easily.

    Cholesterol
    Cholesterol can have both good and bad effects on ones health, it’s very important to know how to manage the blood cholesterol level and reduce the risk of heart diseases. The limit for cholesterol is below 200 mg/dl. Good cholesterol (HDL) should be 15-30% of total cholesterol. If it keeps on increasing it may lead to danger of heart stroke.

    All these diseases mentioned above are the lethal ones that threaten men due to their work load or family problems. They can also result due to imbalanced diet or lack of care. However, some of them can be controlled by proper medication and attention.
